I was just wondering if I should sand down and primer just one spot on my car.
the paint has chipped and there is some slight rusting. it hasn't ate away at the metal yet I was just wondering if I should sand and primer just that area to avoid any further problems untill I can get the car painted   :dunno:

you might think that the rust is in that one spot ,but sometimes you start sanding a small chip and it end up being a rust spot the size of a quarter or even bigger
make sure you sand it enough till you stop seeing rust

400 wet/dry should be good . Keep it wet and soak paper like 1/2 hour before you start . drop of dawn helps too .
