does anyone have pics of 61-64 Impala rear end swop or how to keep the axle from coming out. this guy I talked to said his come out three time last year.

you can tackweld the shrink-piece holding the bearing to the axle or swap the drums to discbreaks.
just alittle tack, to much heat the axel will break since they are heat treated.

I have drilt a hole in my Lockring and then treaded it
than i have a screw [ M5 ] whit a point on it
screwed it in my Lockring
Now he is also Lock whit the screw
the Lockring cant come lose anymore from the axle
Here a picture of it :biggrin:

That's kinda a good idea, but would be concerned the set screw comes loose.

better off to put a g-body or ford 9 inch rearend under it. THe axles also tend to snap because theyre cast with a cheap mix of metal. I have pics of axles after they snapped.
