The pressure relief valve dosent effect the performance unless its set way to high. all it does is divert pressure back to the resevore when the cylinders are locked up . Or have a runnaway motor. There good to have . even better when your got pressure gauges to set them up.

ok what i mean is, setting the relief too high is loosening it up too much so it wont let the pumps go to enough pressure , like for a chain bridge. tighten it all the way up then to let it blast out as much pressure as it will let then. most pumps dont have them anymore anyway. they are good to have though . most hoppers wouldnt want them though, cause they use that extra pressure to compress the springs after the chains catch. Making sense yet?
