I use Purple Power or Castrol Superclean (automotive degreaser) is the safest on plastic if you want to soak it for a while. Easy off is next, don't let it dry though or it will be tough to scrub. I don't think you can soak in brake fluid for too long, might attack the plastic. Be real careful with colored plastics, they can get brittle

Yeah, Castrol Superclean or Purple Power is the best/safest. I once put a body in a tub of Castrol Superclean and forgot about it for 4 months! No damage to the plastic at all.
