red devil lye mixed with water

if you have long moldings such as quarter panel trim, buy some 6" PVC pipe and cap both ends and cut the top open so that you form a trough. mix the water and red devil lye solution in there and let it soak, but keep an eye on it, usually the old anodizing will turn dark, once its removed wash it right away to get all the acid off.

belive it or not the easy way to take it of is by using heavy duty oven cleaner spray on let it sit for about 2 min and then clean it with warm water. Repete as necessary

hmm, im  putting a differnt grill in my impala and i was just hitting it with a buffing wheel right quick and was going to throw it in, after looking at that topic might just spend a few days on it :0

strip it with the lye first or the buffing will do nothing to it.

I have found out that the best and fastest product to use is 100% lye like whats in my topic! I tried heavy duty oven cleaner but it couldnt touch the industrial pipe cleaner liquid ;)

ummm, buffing it made it ALOT shinnier than it was, but there are still small pitts when u get up really close, it looks nice, i dunno if i want to strip it down just yet

because your not buffing the aluminum your buffing the anno.

the only way to get rid of those small pits is by striping it sopunds harder than it is.

if you dont care about the minor pits cool.

but you will see a hell of a diff if yuo do strip then buf the alum.
