i have been painting my own cars for a number of years with satisfactory results..

but i want a car with kameleon or kandy paint..

I live in UK and people over here want $$$$$$$ to paint trick colors.

so i would rather do it my self..

i can rig up a tempary clean room, but no access to oven.

Q.
how difficult is kameleon or kandy colors, and can these be done without the use of an oven??

any help or advice would be great..

also who makes best paint? who has cheapest paint? what is the best value for money??

You Can DO it!!!!!!!

No need for a oven either, there are paints like House of Color and xotic that makes Candies. I have used xotic and I like it, its alittle cheaper than HOK. Try this www.xoticcolours.com

thanks 64..
i know i can do it, its just the cost of paint is making me a bit scared.

i could always redo-it if i fu*k it up.

to keep a uniform spray patern / angles, i would paint it like this.

1. prep & prime all panels to be painted.
2. prep primed areas in Jams, under-hood / trunk.
3. base & clear all jams, under-hood / trunk.
4. prep primered body.
5. mask jams under-hood / trunk.
6. base & clear body.
7. polish body & remove edges fro jams etc.

wright??
or is there a betterway?

good point.
but if i remove doors / trunk and hood, then i can get a uniform paint lay-up all over shell..but now how would i be able to paint doors so they mathed shell.??

i would rather the doors / hood / trunk matched the shell and run the risk of the jams being slightly out..

i think i am wright with this method..
i dont know, let me know if there is another way i could shoot it that ALL panels blended 100%.
