where can i get one or get mine done at? im thinking about building a slingshot arm in the rear for my 64 impala with 14in cylinders and everyone says i need a drive shaft that will slip around 12 inches. if anyone has any info get back to me.
not really sure how you mean but no, it would not work, you'll need a slipshaft...Originally posted by bigbill@Dec 5 2003, 01:55 AM
hey you seem to know a hell alot about 64s so see if you can answer this. i was thinking and if i made the slingshot arm but attached it to an added on frame addition at the same area as one of the universal joints the pivot of the frame and suspention would be the same. therefor there would be no need for a slipped shaft. would this work?
you would prolly need more play than that.Originally posted by schmidt64@Dec 5 2003, 04:34 AM
hey badass 64, i am getting a driveshaft made and was told to use a slip unit from a chevy 4x4. you are saying that you need 12" of slip but these only supply 4". will that still work with 14's?

it is the entire rear drive shaft, it has about 6"-8" of slip or so, it works good with 12-16" cylindersOriginally posted by bigbill@Dec 6 2003, 11:31 AM
