i would say yes. i would take them off.
spacers how unsafe
i had to use 2 5/16 spacers on each side on my car to get my Ds on without hittin the caliper on the front. i dont feel to comforable with it . is it unsafe to have 2 spacers on each wheel?

yes. one is bad enough. what kind of car? grind the calipers as far as possible before you try spacers...
grinding the calipers is not an option. and its the mustang in my avatar
scrap the rustang and get a better car...

with one spacer you will be fine just one instead of two for each side sporting

spacers put huge amounts of stress on the stuts, i would take them off, and try something else
