ok when i got my compressor i put it in and i used the steel braided hose that came with it and it made this weird ass wistleing noise (it was loud as fuck too) so i just took it off and put on the spare plastic hose but i want the steel hose on there because the plastic one is melting..................how do i fix this or what could be the problem.........and if i have to but a new hose where can i get some at and how much would it be for about a foot and a half

you are obviously talking about the viar compressors. here is the deal on those.

viar had a crop of those compressors released that had this problem. see, that hose has a built in check valve. it keeps the air from traveling back to the compressor head from the tank. well, the check valve is not opening all the way to all the air to bypass it fully, thus causing the whistle. viar admitted to having produced thousands of these compressors with this check valve problem. they have since replaced the design of the check valve on their newer compressors.

if you call viar directly, they will send you a replacement. or you can contact air ride tech and they can give you one also.
