Ok I'm tired of lookin for 6" cylinders for the front of my car (87 olds fwd) and I have a pair of 10's layin around. I was wondering if I could cut the ram down to 6's or so and just use the 10" casing. Would that be ok?

The only problem is the cylinder collar will be dropping onto what ever the rod is bolted to.Normaly there is about 1/2" of rod sticking out when the cylinder is collapsed. So you may have to make some sort of stopper to prvent damage to the cylinder or the mount.
