I have a DVC 12" sub and it is rated at 700 max 500 rms. When buy an amp should I run at least 700 per voice coil or in total?

yeah the rating is always for the total of the sub, so if it's 500 @ 2 coils, divide 500 by 2, you get 250... so you shouldn't run more than 250 to each coil... although remember you don't always have to run a sub with its RMS to get it to sound good :)

good so I only need a 250 x 2 amp to make it sound good that makes it easy :cheesy:
