i know J knows all, i seen everyfile on his site about 3 times. i need more help
u see his way of the knot vid?
yeah, i still dont understand, ok how about i tell u what i wanna do and u help me build it, i wanna make a vw van hop. its diecast and 1/24 scale i just want to be able to lift the back end and hop the front end, i wanna hit back bumper
take a Mabuchi 130, take 2 to 3 floss lines and wind them together, use a gear to attach the lines to the motors shaft and instead of letting them winding around the shaft....you make em stick out on the outside of the gear....so what happens the motor spins the lines and in that way it get's knots what shortens the line and lift the car up....how simple can it be? Just like a spinning wheel... ;)

QVO..........hey jevries, have you tried "HH" hopping string? i use it for some high power hoppers and dancers. i think its better then floss of fishing string.

but make sure it doesnt touch any plastic parts. it will cut in to the plastic. :(

i under stand it but could use an ho motor? i did mine with an ho
and it lifts fine but i cant get it to lower

what am i doin wrong?
besides fishing line, which is very good for hopping and last a very long time, I use kite lines and they come in numerous thickness' and strenghts. Note that floss thread you only use on the knot tech it's absolutely not good for hopping!

If it doesn't lower your car you must have one of the following problems:

You don't use a DPTD toggle switch which allows the motor to spin both ways.
Your line cuts into the plastic of your chassis.
There's not enough weight for the car to drop down.
The axles lock because of wobble and wiggle.

Check the above list.
