MY 97' BAGGED NISSAN KING CAB BROKE DOWN (COMPRESSOR PROBLEM) A FEW DAYS AGO, AND I WAS PARKED BEHIND MY PIZZA SHOP BEHIND (LOADING AREA) A LOCAL PUBLIX SUPERMARKET, THE MANAGER OF THE COMPLEX THREATEND TO TOW MY TRUCK IN 2 HOURS IF I DIDNT MOVE IT, LONG STORY SHORT, I FIGURED I WOULD LAY-OUT THE TRUCK AND ADD A LITTLE FUN TO THE TOW DRIVERS LIFE!!! I REMOVED THE TRUCK (FIXED PROB.) BEFORE THEY COULD TOW IT. NOW MY QUESTION IS = CAN YOU TOW A 1200+ Pd. SLAB OF METAL (LAYIN FRAME TRUCK) WITH A "FLATBED" TRUCK? I KNOW YOU CANT USE A "REPO TRUCK" SINCE IT WOULD TEAR THE STREET UP.....I ASKED AAA BUT THEY COULD NOT OR "WOULD NOT" DO IT. PLEASE ADVISE 4 THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT ANTI TOWABLE VEHICLE WITH NUMEROUS ADVANTAGES:) THANKS

im sure they could tow it. they would trash it in the process, but i doubt they would care. most tow truck drivers ive meet had no concern for personal property.a girl i worked with a long time again had her car repo'd. she knew they were coming. so she turned the wheel all the way to one side. when the driver picked it up and began to pull it out, by the back on a front wheel drive car by the way, the car swung wide and took out the whole side of another car. it was kind of funny cause she was a fucktard. the owner of the hit car came out and had a spaz.the driver just told him to call this guys boss and their insurance would pay for it. the driver was a total jerk.

Up here tow trucks won't touch a lowered car truck normally, they are responsible for any damage caused by towing, that was according to the tow operator I talked to.

I would say that they would just latch on to something with a chain and drag the bitch on the back of the flat bed.

I was busted a hose on one of my cars and the whole front of the car came down. The back was still up though. I was able with the help of the tow truck driver that actually cared to tow it. It placed some pieces of wood on the front of the car to slide it up on the flat bed. Like I said my back was still up so maybe this is why this was possible. I think that it would have been a different story if it was all layed out.

I believe that if a tow truck driver was called by the owner of a property to remove a vehicle fro his property then any damage that results is the responsibility of the owner of the vehicle being towed.

down here in ft. lauderdale they would tow that shit with no hesitation...

my homeboy had an 85 cuttlas supreme with 3pumps and either 8-10 batts ( i cant remember)... he had got pulled over by the cops for DUI, but before he got out, he hit the switches to lay the car out and kicked his lock to the rear of the car (its a safety device that kills the power to the switch box....so that if someone break in your car, they cant hit the switches to raise the car and drive off... being that he laid frame, that would be the only way to drive away in his car)

of course the cops couldnt leave his car on the side of the road, he was so fucked up to the point he didnt realize that by being a hard ass to the cops would end up with him having a fucked up car...

long story short, the tow truck driver fucked up the front and the rear of his car from that thing that slides under one of the ends of your car and lift it up (he basically stapped the rear of the car and drugg the front of it)..., pumps fell off rack and wasted juice everywhere, he went to jail for a lil while....

chances are you will get your shit fucked up...

im in canada and like the other guy from canada said, if a car is excessively lowered, they may not touch it. Not sure if this is ALL or SOME tow truck drivers.

but a local guy here was about to get towed and came out to his truck with the truck driver still there, and the truck driver told him "i was trying to tow you, but you were too low to tow"..

Needless to say, he couldn't get towed

THANKS FOR ALL THE INSIGHTS, I FELT I NEED TO MAKE ANOTHER POINT. AS FOR THE TOW TRUCK DRAGGING MY TRUCK ANYWAYS, I WAS WARNED BY THE POLICE WHILE GETTING A TICKET FOR NO BUMPER, THAT "IF WE EVER CATCH YOU DRAGGING (SPARKIN') WE WILL GIVE YOU A REALLY NICE TICKET FOR TEARING UP THE ROAD" SO NOW I SAY, IF THE TOW TRUCK DRAGS MY TRUCK I COULD IN RETURN CALL THE POLICE AND INFORM THEM THAT A TOWTRUCK IS TEARING UP THE STREETS BY DRAGGING A VEHICLE BEHIND IT!!! NO?

well the tow truck company would more than likely send a flat deck so it would maybe tear up the road or parkin lot for about the length of you ride...they would never try and tow somthing like this with a regular wheel lift truck...at least i would hope not..lol.

Shit, This is my topic. I have been towing for 2 years now. Flat bed during the day. Repoing at night. I love the flat bed. I'll tow any thing withing the weight limit. ( D.O.T Sucks ass) I have towed about 8 hondas that were droped with kits and shit. If a person calls me to get a fucking car out of their parking space. I make them sign a paper saying that THEY authorise me removing that car and that there might be some damages that we are not respposible. SO I back up the flat bed, J hook that fucking honda. And DRAG THE FUCKING THING UP THE BED. On the way down. If its a Automatic, and I dont feel like disconecting the tranny cable. I shake the bed forward and back so the little fucking honda slides like a fuckin fat guy on ice. These cars ususly have Front and back damage. Front lip, and body kit damage. Rear damage when they slide out of the bed. I also love it when I repo a lowrider. That shit is worth less when it gets to the yard.

At the end of the day. I STILL DONT GIVE A FUCK!

haha, thats horrible, and great, how do i become a repo man? also, to the question about how do we protect the air suspension, you just do the install right. i have one leak in my system now, thats just cause i did a quick fix on my jimmy when the bag blew out, and i havn't driven it much since then so i don't care to fix the fitting right now, but other than that, just make sure you use grommets around sheet metal when hoses go through, and make sure hoses are not near sharp metal or next to exhaust/heat, other than that, you should never have any problems, unless you hop alot, i do that, yea, i don't do much anymore, i broke my control arms, blew the bag, it was fun though, i know i will keep doing it, but im just waiting till i build something on hydraulics and wrap the frame and build it to hop.
