i have 2 different subs in a single chamber box, is that bad, could that cause distortion? one is a ported sub the other is a free air

Subs require a certain amount of cubic air space to play right, and in your case your need a divider in the box, the subs are fighting each other for air, and if one blows, more than likely the other one will blow due to air movement in the box, build a custom box for each with the right air space and put a divider in it!!!!!
