How would I go about making my car into a non comp carb. What all do I have to buy and do to achieve this. Dont care about passing smog. Its an 81 regal 231 v6.

You need a distributor with a vacuum advance and a non computer carb. The 78 to 80 G-bodies with the 231 were not computer controlled.

thanks do you know if i have to do anything as far as with the computer. also on the vaccume distributer would i need to change the firing order.

The wires for the computer can be removed. When I did the swap I removed the wiring harnes from the computer.

The firing order will be the same.

MY 1980 REGAL DID HAVE A FEEDBACK CARBURATOR. ORIGINAL.

The 80 I used to have did not. Non computer controlled. I guess it depends what part of the country the car is from.

Keep it safe and stick to '78 and '79 G-bodies, those defiantely did not have computers. this '80 Cutlass I am messing with has a comp.

ha ha i remember i unplugged alot of shit in my engine bay in the old 81 i had and it ran just fine..took it a while to warm up in the morning cuz of the electric choke but other then that it was all good. I hate these fuckin 3.8 v-6 bullshit motors...u should be allowed to swap them out for safety reasons and u can't tell me u aren't usin a shit ton of fuel when u have to floor it to even go 50 up a hill..we should start a petition in cali for the 350 swap with no smog bullshit on it ha ha
