pullin out my 8 putin in a 6 how many inches should i gain?

in response to the original question you prob aint gunna gain but 6 " if that its not to do with how heavy the motor is its to do with what coils you have got in teh front what will work for a v8 may not work for a v6

well a v6 sets farther back on the frame the pullys are at the cross member wont that help with less weight to the front of the frame?

well if the kind of car had the option of a 6 u wont get disqualified. I was hiting mid to low 40s with the v8 and a piston

Use a 4.3 perfect for hopping and they about 100-200lbs less depending on the accs u leave on or take off ;)

i got a 472ci caddy big block swapped into my 82 deville........ but im only chippin at about 10"s :biggrin:

you probably wont gain shit. with a v8 u have the weight in the front to compress a set of springs , and with the right combonation of componets u can get it work really nice. with the v6 its lighter so then u have to build the setup accordingly.... so with the v8 or v6 u just have to build the setups that will work in the car with what u got. either way if u do it right youre good. if u do it the combonation wrong, even having a 4 cylinder up front wont help you out.... so basically u dont gain anything. its trial and error. my opinion anyways..... plus you need a v8 to compare the v6 to.... what worked in the v8 may not work in the v6 and what someones v6 worked for them may not work for yours.
