Does it make a big difference to have a vacuum advance. I have a 1964 Malibu SS. It rides a little rough and was told if i get a distributor with a vacuum advance, it will be smoother.

I meant the engine shakes and it doesnt have the power it should have. I've had the timing checked and was told i needed a vacuum advance on my distributor.
