no the 1.4 will not work actually if you get a cheap cambell hausfield from murrays or autozone some place like that those work good and even if you fuck the gun up it only cost $40.00 and you can throw it away

i use a 2.2 but it depends what size flake and how much your spraying on and what your putting it on with. i don't mix my flake with clear.
i also use a agitated cup ( keeps flake mixed up in cup ) i am not sure where you can buy a cup i made mine. you can also use some nuts in the bottom of cup to keep it mixed

some people spray flake just in thinners or in base,,
I prefer using clear myself and use 1.8 setup and up depending on the size of flake ..

i put flake most the time in base maker or what some call color blender it is clear some brands are not totaly clear i know matrix is it is cheeper than clear about $15 a quart. and dries in a couple min unlike clear

** I have used my Matco 1.4 & my Sharpe Titanium 1.5 with the big flakes with no problem .... I had to open the flow control almost all the way but They do work .... The only problem that I have seen so far is that I seem to get different colored flakes mixed in with other cars .( not alot of flakes, just a couple )... Even tho i do take good time to clean my gun , it seems to happen every now & then........

i used a cobalt with a 2.4 tip to shoot the fat silver flake. i sprayed 3 coats of stratto blue, 2 coats of sg100 with flake, 2 coats of sg100 with no flake, 4 coats of candy oriental blue, and then 5 coats of clear. my only problem was i mixed the clear 2-1-1 and i should of went 2-1-10% because the clear flowed too much and you could feel flake alot. i was about to respray the whole car but we wet sanded it, sanded through the flake and now i like it. now i get blue flake and silver. but i am planning on redoing it in about 3 months when i pull my frame. i just wanted something to cruise for now.
