I wanna buy a new welder cause the one I have now won't work for what I wann do I dont think. I wanna be able to fully wrap the frame on my 64 Impala. I have now a lincoln 135plus. I dunno what size welder I need to buy or will mine work?? I am under the impression I need a bigger one. What size welders do you guys use to strap frames?? Any help here would be appretiated, also if anyone has one they wanna sell used lemme know.

I would buy at least a 175 and make sure it is 220 volt. I have a Miller 210 and it is more than enough. ;)

so you think that 175 thats for sale in the for sale section is enough?? cause i was lookin at the lincoln website and it says it can do 5/16" but so does my damn 135 according to the same website. i dont understand welding! this shit is confusing??

The 175 will work better than the 135 regardless because it is bigger and it is 220 Volt, but I don't know much about Lincoln Welders because I swear by Miller.

go mig only. flux core is nasty and requires to much clean up.


i lke my 210 Miller, I had a 175 Miller, but it looked to fragile.

Miller 251 Baby.... its a Monster and only 500 more than the 210.... I am still trying to get used to it...... but the bead chews through steel like candy :0 One pass... file & Forget it...LOL

The 210 looks like the 251 but is cheaper and it rocks. :biggrin: I have never had mine over the 4th setting and I do 3/8" often. ;)

Go on Ebay there is a company called IOC and they sell them for wholsale and ship for free in the 48 states. ;) I got my welder through them.
