relax homie, i made the topic before work, im just now getting off, they're coming...

so, this was my lincoln i bought when i had it...

then this happened

as stated earlier i loved this car (still miss her actually) but time to move on...

 

so, i tried to replace the car with another lincoln...

but it wasn't the same... i liked the color but hated the grey guts, so i sold it...

 

at the same time i already had this truck, it was my daily while i had found this lincoln (it took me 1 weekend to throw everything in) cuz the rack and everything fit right in...

and the bottom pic is when when we were on our way to do the trade off...

 

this is the first time i saw it in person... and even though it was on a flatbed and i really knew nothing about it, i was all smiles...

here she is all loaded up and ready to come home...

 

here was the first time i really checked her out at the house...

 

but 1 month after i got the car, i deployed and was gone for 7 months... so i didnt get to do shit to the car... but the good thing aout being bored and with some cash to spare is that i ordered myself a bunch of goodies...

as soon as i got back i wanted to start on the car, but i had to take family trips and all that type of stuff... so, once all that was out of the way, i brought the car home (cuz i moved on base and the car was in storage) so i could have it in the garage and that would motivate me to work on it...

so i did, i brought her home...

 

Wht r the plans for it?

 

so i started working on what i knew had to be done first...

it needed the brakes redone so it could stop...

so i bought some wheel dollies and tore into it...

 

so everything with the brakes is going good until i snapped the rear line trying to get the original line disconnected from the part that goes through the frame, but its all good (first learning experience) i bought all the required equipment and went to town making a new line...

 

then i started to open up my boxes of stuff i had ordered, it was like christmas but WAY better...!!!

 

then i threw my supremes on it, i think it looks bad ass just the way it was, but i knew i needed a temp paint job...

 

so once it was running and i got the brakes bled (which took a long as time considering everything was off at once) it was time to replace the loud annoying pipes... this was long tube headers with straight pipes, bitch was super loud...!!!

 

so i threw some flat black on it for now so i could roll it and drove it to my first place off base, the muffler shop...

once it was done, i drove it to my favorite store PEP BOYS (you can see the pipes out back now) i had long glass packs installed, its not too loud unless i really get on her...

 

so i was driving with my blanket on the front seat, i didnt care... i was cruising my impala (feels good just to say that) and you best believe i had a cheesy ass smile on my face...

so i had to atleast install a deck to roll with, so i got to work...

i threw the color bar in, while i was at it...

 

now it was time to start on that interior...

letting the sun warm everything up...

 

had my laptop out watching the PUI youtube video on how they recovered a bench seat... i based all my work on the videos, i think they came out alright for being my first ones...

since the inside started looking better, i started adding some of the exterior goodies...

half shields & visors...

once i can get a good source for my corner lamps, i will install those...

 

i finally got around to painting and assembling the rear speaker grill (its installed, just dont have a good pic)

 

these are just some pics of when i was first driving it around on base, i went to go show off at my boys house where he was still keeping my old one... i love this pic too...!!!

another one of my boys (cody's brother) when he would come to help me out with the brakes... plus truth be told, him driving his ride would motivate the shit outta me to work on mine...

i cant forget the very first time i got to fill her up at a real gas station (no more gas cans) such a great feeling...!!!

 

So, where im at now... i can drive it all day long, but i have to start installing the small stuff...

i have to install the door handles, all the locks, mirrors and the trim (its not going to get painted until next year, so i might as well)
i ordered new shorty headers so i don't crush the exhausts (i know i should've waited but i couldn't) my muffler guy is gonna hook me up though...
after the exhaust gets redone, its getting juiced...
im finishing up the door, rear quarter and armrest up right now (i should've spent the extra dough and got the pre-assmbled doors) cuz now i have to transfer the door sill over and its sort of a pain in the ass, but again: good learning experience...
once that is done and installed, i have to redo my weather stripping because it all leaks, and i don't wanna ruin my new upholstery (does anybody else notice i work backwards sometimes, LOL) oh well, this is my first real build-up...
i also have to fix my gas gauge, it quit working on me...

all my other rides have been, add wheels & juice and lets roll... i'm learning with this one...

still cant help smile every time i open the garage and see her sitting in there...
