FOR YOUR CAR, I WOULD STAY WITH THE 18 FOOTER, CAUSE IF YOU HAVE EVER TOWED WTH UHAUL, YOU WOULD NOW THE EXTRA 2 FEET, AND WEIGHT IS IMPORTANT. MAYBE EVEN A 20 FOOTER

It all depend on what size is your car.I pulled gbodies on uhaul triler and drives good.but when it come to a caddy or a chevy I would go with a longer trailer.and always put the most weight toward the hitch.the more weight you put on the end the more it would swerve.

True, I've owned my 20ft. trailer for 13 years to tow my Caddy. And when it comes to towing a show car safe,don't go out cheap.

 

I have had Big Bodys,Bubble Lincolns on my 18 no problem,I don't know about 16 I'm hno:

I just sold my 16 foot today. I towed my cady on it all over texas for years with no problems.

 

I GOT BOTH 16 AND 18 AND THE 18 TOWS WAY BETTER I JUST PUT RAILS ON MY 16 N USE IT TO DUMP GARBAGE

I agree with Homer..I bought a standard car hauler w/ dovetail from Carson for $1500 brand new last year. Towed a 62 4door Impala from LA to Vegas..Truck sucked as it is the 4.8L motor in my Silverado 1500 (slow in mountain), but the trailer never swayed one bit...Did like 70mph on the straight aways with no issue. This is what it looks like. Are you using a receiver or is the ball on the bumper??

and if you can get load levelers I would do it. I towed all the way from chicago to florida with the load levelers and it was like the car was not even there

THAT IS TRUE. HONESTLY, I GOT A 22 FOOTER, BUT HAVE USED 18 FOOTERS MOSTLY. SHIT 85 MPH ALL DAY WITH MY 22 FOOTER. I FORGET IT IS BACK THERE SOMETIMES.

what are load levelers? im going to be getting my first trailer real soon like

 

18footer is the way to gohave towed from Seattle to San Francisco and back, Seattle to Vegas and back a couple times and had no issues what so ever and did 90mph at times.... don't forget to get a trailer brake modual as well, helps with braking down steep hills and in the rain....

 

After you used the 18, you'll HATE the 16.

18 would be the smallest trailer I would use to tow any lowrider on and have used 16, 18, 20, and 22ft'. Trailer construction make a ton of difference to most 16's are 7k or less GVW, you can usally get 18/20ft with a 10k GVW with a better built frame and deck structure. When you start off with 2k of trailer and a 4k load, the extra length will allow you better loading and postioning options for safe hwy travel.

 

I LIKE THE 18. I AM LOOKING AT A 16FT WITH A 2FT DOVETAIL. THAT WILL TOW MY 65 IMPALA. I ALWAYS FIND THAT IT TOWS BETTER WHEN I BACK THE CAR ON THE TRAILER.
