I got a '82 mark VI with 14" cylinders in the back, and i got the chrome adjustable trailing arms....

I called my local driveshaft place, about makin mine telescopic or whatever? and they said they MIGHT be able to put a different slip yoke, but it would jus give it a LIL more travel..

what do i need to do? I wana be able to ride locked up and layed out, and not worry about jammin the shaft up into the tranny?

It locks up pretty high wit the 14s, but i kno there's people wit higher than can still drive both ways..

some input please!!!?

what are yall doin about the slip yoke shafts with the ends that just slide into the tranny.. how are yall keeping them from pulling out the tranny

the drive shaft still moves in & out of the tranny but not as bad as before and with the slip you have enought extra room so it does not fully come out of the tranny-- they run about $100-$150 for the slip and about the same to have someone install it--just dont try and install it yourself because the driveshaft has to be balanced

the black magic ones have a spring on the slip, i seen other peopel drill and tap a screw through the yoke into the tailshaft of the tranny.

mines not telescopic :( ......

With the drop mounts on yours top and bottom the factory driveshaft actually worked all the way up and down with 14" strokes. ;)

WE have them here at the shop ,they sell for 200.00 as a complete unit...most drivetrain shops charge between 50 to 75 to install and true them up....
this type of slip unit will give 8.5 to 11 inches of compression on the driveshaft
